Recovery is Possible

"My life had become unmanageable before arriving to Way Maker. I struggled with alcohol and drug use. I was a liar and a cheat. I was depressed, angry, and full of hate. At the end of my addiction, I was suicidal and had lost all hope. I wanted to die. After losing almost everything in my life, and barely hanging on, Jesus reached out to me and led me to recovery. I graduated from a 36-day recovery center program and I needed a sober place to live in order to continue my recovery. I heard of the Way Maker house, and it being a faith-based program gave me hope for the best chance to save my life. Today, I have no guilt or shame in my life. I work the 12 step program with my sponsor. I learned to be accountable for myself at Way Maker, through my daily and weekly chores. I’m a member of my church and volunteer every chance I get. Life is not about me anymore. Life is putting God first and helping others. I am getting my life back and I owe it all to God. I love myself and have honesty, integrity, peace, joy, and happiness in my life today, all thanks to the dedication of Way Maker.” - John, Graduate of Way Maker's Program

Testimonies like John's are not uncommon. Our program is designed to give men in recovery the best chance of long-term sobriety and freedom. Thanks to your giving, we can continue to provide a healthy, sober environment for those in recovery from substance use disorder. Together, we can prevent relapse and overdose deaths. Recovery is possible.
